Works for Students
Hook has long been committed to the interdependent relationship between the professional and academic contexts where dance thrives. An important part of her mission is to investigate alternative art making practices that enable the professional and academic contexts to merge and to cross-pollinate. She views making work in either setting to be professional, urgent research. Often works made on and with current students ends up being performed and further fostered in professional venues and vice versa. For her, academia is place to innovate within a laboratory where creative initiatives that impact the profession in positive ways are often born.
